Twilight RLF (Real Long Fin) Medaka

The Twilight RLF Medaka (also known as Yugure RLF) is a designer ricefish strain named for its subtle, dusk-like coloration that transitions between soft sunset hues and deep night-sky tones, enhanced by the broad, flowing Real Long Fin (RLF) mutation.

The body features a unique gradient blend—typically an orange, reddish-gold, or warm amber head and upper body that transitions into dark charcoal, smoky slate, or deep indigo toward the back and tail.

​Fine, sparkling silver, pale blue, or violet Lame scales dust the top of the body and extend into the wide fin rays, resembling stars appearing at twilight.

While top-view ponds reveal the starry Lame along the back, the Twilight RLF is best displayed in a side-view glass aquarium where the broad, flowing profile of the Real Long Fin structure and the color gradient along the body can be fully appreciated.

​Gentle overhead lighting against a dark or neutral background causes the icy glitter scales to pop while highlighting the translucent amber-to-smoky gradient in the fins.
