Black Lame Medaka

The Black Lame Medaka is a sleek, highly contrasting variety of Japanese Ricefish. It pairs a deep, dark body with intensely reflective, multi-colored glitter scales.

Scattered along the spine and flanks are dense Lame scales that reflect brilliant silver, icy blue, gold, and green light under direct illumination. The contrast between the dark body and bright glitter makes each scale stand out like stars against a night sky.

While exceptional in top-view ponds where the glitter along the back catches direct sunlight, they are equally popular in side-view glass tanks due to the stark contrast of their dark silhouette.
